July 18th, 2020ShelterBox – Jim Carriere, who is senior vice president of First Federal Savings and Loan Association of San Rafael, has been involved with the organization for more than a decade. He served on ShelterBox USA’s board from 2010-2018, including service as board chair in 2017 and 2018.  ShelterBox has been supporting displaced populations very successfully.  Come see how you as an individual or we are a Rotary Club can help solve some of these current world problems together.  This meeting will be held via our club Zoom account.

September 12th, 2020District Governor Gregg Giusiana – Our District 5170 Governor will be attending this meeting.  This meeting’s purpose is to hear briefly what he may have to share and to be a brainstorming session for members on what we have planned, entertaining new ideas and discussion about how to improve the work we get done in our local community and abroad internationally as well.  At this point, this meeting is planned as a Zoom meeting.  If that changes, we will update here and our club Facebook account.

Fall 2020 Day Service Project – Tree Planting Event – We are planning a large tree planting event for the Fall of 2020 in conjunction with the City of Fremont & the Tri-City Urban Forest Alliance.  Similar to our event when we planted 25 Oak Trees in Northgate Community Park last October, we would love to reach a goal of planting an additional 75 – 100 trees.  This requires two things to happen – Funding of around $7500 and lots of volunteers to help dig holes, prepare the roots for planting, plant the trees and fertilize the holes.  We are planning to have a volunteer from the Tri-City Urban Forest Alliance to guide volunteers in proper tree planting technique as it is very important to the trees survival after planting.  After planting, we place 2 stakes in the ground to help support the trees as establish stronger roots.  If you have ideas or want to be involved, please contact us at [email protected]
